Gratuities
Gratuities are never expected but always appreciated. As a general rule, tipping should be based on your guided trip price alone and should reflect your overall pleasure with the experience and how hard your guide worked for you, not necessarily on how many fish you landed. As with any other hospitality industry a customary 15-20% is standard, but is entirely at your discretion.

Demo Gear
We have an assortment of quality Loop rods and reels available for your use and there is no up charge if you would like to, or need to take one for a test drive while on the water. We do ask you to let us know that you plan on either bringing your own equipment or would like to use our demo equipment in advance of your day on the water. We do not provide demo boots or waders for our client’ use but can help arrange for a rental pair through one of the local fly shops.

How Do I Go About Getting Flies and Tackle for My Trip?

Flies and other terminal tackle are always included with any guide trip, but you are welcome to bring your own flies and tackle if you would like.

What type of gear/clothing should I bring for my day of guided fishing?

Montana’s weather is highly variable, with one day’s high in the 80’s and the next in the 50’s with rain and wind. Plan on bringing outerwear for any weather condition with an emphasis placed on layers. Spring and fall weather is typically when we experience the most variability in weather and when sufficient layers to remain warm and dry becomes the most critical. We recommend that you pay close attention to the weather forecast during your visit and when in doubt please contact us with specific questions.

How Much Advanced Notice Do I Need to Book a Trip?
Bozeman, Montana is a busy place during the summer months and we recommend making all reservations as far out as possible. This is particularly important when it comes to our specialty trips such as our Ausable River Boat, Carp Fishing or private waters. Availability is very limited and it is a first come, first serve basis.
